**Monday, December 8th, 2008:
–Please continue to pray for Melissa, Aubrey, Linda, and all the family of Andrew Johnson.
–Please remember Mom, as she goes to the kidney specialist tomorrow.
**Praise Reports: Even in the midst of such terrible tragedy and immense grief and sorrow, there have still been a couple of praises mentioned at church:

–Three firefighters have accepted Christ, since Andrew’s death. Let’s continue to pray that more people will come to Jesus.
**Thursday, Dec. 4th, 2008: Andrew slipped away to be with the LORD early this afternoon. Melissa was by his side, while hundreds were still praying in the ICU waiting room. Melissa and all of her family, and Andrew’s family need our continued prayers.

Earlier today, the family was called in…

**Update (Sunday, Feb. 17th, 2008)– A prayer request of my own–you may view at Sunday Prayer.
**Update (1/30/08)–Messages From Tiff concerning Uncle Sammy and Bailey:
(1/30/08) It’s been a while since I’ve updated you on my niece Bailey. She is doing much better and has recently started going back to daycare. Derek and Shawn have to continue the breathing treatments throughout the remainder of this week, but she’s getting back to normal! She may have even gotten a little spoiled while getting held so much the past few weeks, haha! Thank you so much for praying!
(1/29/08) Dad is doing very good. We went yesterday and he had his feeding tube removed. He’s VERY happy about that. They also removed several stiches as well. But he is still in the healing process and has to be on an all liquid diet for the next several weeks. He is not in very much pain and is very excited about getting out of the house again! haha! Thank you for your prayers and continued prayers as the next months will be trying times for dad and recuperation.
(1/25/08) Dad is doing great. He’s home and my aunt Judy is having a hard time keeping up with him! haha! He’s doing well and is scheduled to go back on Wednesday to have his feeding tube removed (if not earlier). Please continue to pray for continued good health and optimism for dad and our family. His smile is definately contagious! Thank you for your continued prayers!

**Update (1/24/08)–Concerning Grandpa: Mom says:
HE IS SUPPOSE TO GO HOME ON TUES., JAN. 29. THEY THINK THEY MAY HAVE FOUND SOMEONE TO MOVE IN THE HOUSE WITH HIM.
–My friend Pooja is still having pain and her daughter Priya has had another (of many) ear infections.
–Concerning Uncle Sammy and Little Bailey, my cousin Tiff sends the following updates:
Update on dad, he’s coming home today! He came through his surgery fine and the doctor feels confident that they removed all the cancer. It was all contained and he saw nothing above or below the site. The doctors at Wake are amazed at how fast dad is healing and at how optimistic he is! The nurses in ICU even nick-named dad smiley. And as most of you know, mom’s nickname when she was in the hospital is smiley. So this tickled dad tremendously! Carrying on mom’s light for the Lord! But the doctor’s gave dad the option of either coming home with a feeding tube, or staying at the hospital until they take it out. So dad, without hesitation, chose to come home and he’ll go back next week to have the feeding tube removed. He will only have the feeding tube in until his throat heals enough to pass the “swallow test” and he’s able to eat non-solid foods.
Please also keep my niece Bailey in your prayers. She is one sick little girl. The doctors have diagnosed that she has caught RSV. She has a double ear infection and feeling very bad right now. Derek and Shawn have to administer a breathing treatment to her every 2-4 hours or as often as needed until she’s well again. I know that they desire your prayers… as does Bailey too.
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU all for praying! We have seen evidences of God’s grace and answered prayer everywhere. Please continue to pray as the coming months will prove to be trying as well. But with God’s grace and dad’s great attitude… we’re looking forward to big things.
**Update (1/18/08)–Annette, (my cousin Tiff’s neighbor at work) sends this update about Uncle Sammy:
Just wanted to let everyone know that Tiff is not back to work yet. Her dad is still in ICU, but doing very well. She said that the doctors said that they got all the cancer and everything looks good. She made the comment that they always called her mom smiley, cause she was always smiling when she came out of surgery and her dad wrote that they called him the same thing. They stayed in Winston again last night because of the weather. Tiff plans to come back to work on Monday should everything stay ok. Please continue to prayer for the whole family. I know they would greatly appreciate it.
Have a great weekend and God Bless you all!!!!
**Update (1/16/08)–Uncle Sammy’s surgery is tomorrow at 6:30 am. Please be much in prayer for him.
–Aunt Polly was going this past Tues. to discuss Grandpa’s departure of the nursing home. She says he is doing fairly well.
–Praise The Lord, my friend Pooja gave birth to Joshua on Jan. 4th. Please continue to keep Pooja in your prayers, as she is still having a lot of pain while recuperating. Please also remember Joshua, as he has a cold.
**Update (1/11/08)– Uncle Sammy–(Tiff says):
Dad’s surgery is Jan 17th, next week. He will probably be in the hospital for 6-7 days and then it will be several months of recuperation and therapy. So please continue to keep him in your prayers as this will be very tough on him. He’ll have to re-learn how to speak and everything. A lot on him right now.
–Grandpa–Last I spoke with Mom, she had said the doctors were still working on regulating Grandpa’s blood pressure.
–Cousin Ellen’s surgery went well, and last I heard, she was sore, but doing fine.
**Update (12/31/07)–Grandpa is out of the hospital and is in rehab at the nursing home for 2 weeks.
**Update (as of 12/25/07)– My Grandfather (Mom’s dad) was taken to Roanoke Memorial Hospital last night, Dec. 24th. He collapsed and fell flat on his back (was dizzy every time he started to stand up). Grandpa is alert, but is on a heart monitor and has a very irregular heartbeat. Please keep Grandpa, my parents, and the family in your prayers.
**Updates (as of 12/22/07)–
–Praise Report: The surgery went great, and my little nephew Eli is doing very well.
–Please keep the family of Mrs. Joyce in your prayers. She was our church’s oldest member, and she went home to be with our Lord on December 21st.
–My cousin Tiffany sends the following request:
I also have a special request. Please take a moment everyday… to pray for those who are hurting this Christmas and New Years. While Christmas and New Years is enjoyed by so many, it’s also heartbreaking and hard for others. Some have lost loved ones, may suffer depression and lonliness, or may even be sick or hurting elsewhere. The best gift you can give to others is intercessory prayer and sharing God’s love. On behalf of my family and countless others, thank you for all your prayers and love. You all have done so much this past year for others and I pray that God will bless you immensely for your kindness. It’s my prayer that each of you will have a most blessed Christmas and New Years too. May God’s hand be upon you and yours.
Love to you all,
Tiffany

–Please remember the family of Edward Johnson, as he passed away today. Mr. Johnson lived across from my family all the time I was growing up. He was a hard worker, a kind man, and a great neighbor. I know he will be sorely missed.
–Please pray for Elijah, my little nephew (Johnny’s son). “Eli” will be having surgery this Friday, the 21st, to get a second pair of tubes in his ears and to have his adenoids taken out. (In addition to multiple ear infections, his hearing has been temporarily affected, and as a result, he is behind in his speech).
–Please remember my uncle Darrell and aunt Cindy in your prayers. Darrell and Cindy are now trying to move, and they need to be in their new home by next Wed. Of course there are various inspections, water sampling, finishing the floor, etc. that need to be done before occupancy. Needless to say, they are under a lot of stress right now. Please pray that things will go well.

The doctor said her condition is mild now, but of course it is still a concern, and Mom will be monitored more closely (to be aware of any changes). Please also pray for both Mom and Dad (health and work struggles).
–Grandpa does not have pneumonia, but there is a concern about it. Grandpa has a bad case of the flu and is still coughing bad. He will be going back to the doctor to have his lungs checked, etc. Please continue to pray for him.
–Please continue to remember Cousin Laura and her family.
–Uncle Sammy’s surgery has been postponed until January (because of bronchitis). Please continue to pray for him and his family.

Hello Janet,
I do agree to pray for the missionaries who reach out for the unreached. Many serve in remote areas such as in Papua etc. They built schools, provide free health services etc.
May God’s light be shine upon them. AS ALWAYS
