Mary Had A What?!

Today, I came across one of my favorite kid’s stories from many months ago. I just LOVE this one! Here, take a look for yourself:

This morning, I was sitting with my children in their class, before Sunday School started. Sarah was coloring a picture of Mary and Joseph, while Kerry worked on a puzzle.

Sarah says to Kerry, “You know, Mary had a baby…..”

Kerry exclaims, “No, Mary had a little lamb!

Sarah replies in an authoritative tone, “No way Kerry, that was a
different Mary!”

Point to Ponder

Kerry didn’t quite understand the humor in his reply, while Sarah didn’t realize the spiritual meaning of their words. After the laughter, it struck me that in a little town called Bethlehem, Mary did have a “lamb.” No, that’s not quite right, not a lamb, but The Lamb. Jesus willingly became The Sacrificial Lamb when He laid down His life for us…..

Isaiah 53:7 says, “He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter…”

1Peter 1:18-19 says, “Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold….But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot…”

May God Bless you, and “speak” to your heart today is my prayer… My best friend’s little girl recently asked Jesus to “talk loudly” because she couldn’t hear him! Well, don’t expect God to “yell in your ear,” but be careful not to miss his gentle call…..
