Sarah’s almost in the water!

I just love this pic! I think it captures Sarah’s enthusiasm! ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m so happy for my Sarah Beth and for all those who were recently baptized!

Sarah after being baptized. Took a pic of Sarah w/ her towel and wet hair in front of the stain-glass window.

Sarah’s still looking pretty happy and excited! ๐Ÿ™‚

**This was something Sarah decided on her own that she was ready to do.ย  This was actually a test of faith for her, because she was nervous and afraid of having her head under water.ย  [Yes, we’ll be working on the swimming lessons! ๐Ÿ™‚ I was the same way when I got baptized at 9.ย  In fact, I was scared to death, in a way, but (like Sarah) I knew that the Lord would be with me and would help me!]

Again, I’m so happy for my Sarah Beth! ๐Ÿ™‚

Growing In Faith Daily

A small step is a giant leap

In growth and faith each day

If this step is your time with God

To read His Word and pray. โ€”Sper

I’m Resting In Hope…

…My Hope is in Jesus…nothing less; nothing more.

“Uphold me according unto thy word, that I may live: and let me not be ashamed of my hope. Hold thou me up, and I shall be safe: and I will have respect unto thy statutes continually.” –Psalm 119:116-117

“Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; And patience, experience; and experience, hope: And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.” –Romans 5:1-5

My Hope Is Built (The Solid Rock)

Words By: Edward Mote; Music by: William B. Bradbury

My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesusโ€™ blood and righteousness.
I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
But wholly trust in Jesusโ€™ Name.

Refrain

On Christ the solid Rock I stand,
All other ground is sinking sand;
All other ground is sinking sand.

When darkness seems to hide His face,
I rest on His unchanging grace.
In every high and stormy gale,
My anchor holds within the veil.

Refrain

His oath, His covenant, His blood,
Support me in the whelming flood.
When all around my soul gives way,
He then is all my Hope and Stay.

Refrain

When He shall come with trumpet sound,
Oh may I then in Him be found.
Dressed in His righteousness alone,
Faultless to stand before the throne.

Refrain

A Very Long Week

Well, last post I wrote about how hectic things had been. The very next day, things began to change. This past week, our little family has HAD to slow down, whether we liked it or not! Here are some high-lights of the week (as posted on Facebook):

_____________________________

May 25 at 2:02pm “Alright, you yucky germs, you shall rue the day you invaded my head & body!! O.k., maybe not…but don’t get too comfy! Your abode here is only temporary…This too shall pass!!” ๐Ÿ™‚

Been sick since Sat…Difficult to breathe, hear, think, walk around. However, I refuse to be an hospitable host…this is war!!! O.k., yes, I may be a little addled and dizzy between the fever and medications….
So, I may have to lay back down now, but once again I say, “This too shall pass!!” ๐Ÿ™‚
…And yes, your prayers are appreciated! ๐Ÿ™‚

May 26 at 11:25am Feeling a little better today…Think I’ll be on the mend soon! ๐Ÿ™‚ Thank You Lord! ๐Ÿ™‚

P.S. I’m prepared…I just got re-stocked on Mucinex, saline nose spray, Robitussin DM, & tissues! ๐Ÿ™‚
May 27 at 1:00pm

Hubby’s sick too…home from work today. I’m still strugglin’, & the kids aren’t feeling

too good either. Yep, 1 sick little family, but we’re here together!! ๐Ÿ™‚

O.k., I’m SOOOO bored w/ T.V.!!!!!! Must find something more productive…still don’t feel up to doing much, though.
Scott’s still having fever, so he’ll probably be home tomorrow too.
Thu 10:49am

In the words of King Julian (ya know, Penguins of Madagascar)…

“HOW LONG IS THIS GOING TO TAKE?!!!!” {I have tried declaring that I will no longer

be sick now…sadly this has not yet worked!}

O.k., patience is not always one of my best virtues! ๐Ÿ™‚ Good thing the Lord is still workin’ on me! ๐Ÿ™‚

Thu 11:39am

“Our Daily Bread” for today says, “You shall receive power when the Holy Spirit

has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me…to the end of the earth.” –Acts 1:8

Fri 1:34pm

“ODB” for today says, “Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be

able to stand against the wiles of the devil.” –Eph. 6:11

Yep, it’s been kind of a long week ’round here. The Lord is my strength. Praise the Lord that we’re starting to get back to “normal.”

…Well, ya know, “normal” is such a relative word!! ๐Ÿ™‚

**Latest Update: I had missed last Sunday morning church services, and we all had to stay home Wed. night. I was so glad to be able to

attend church this morning! Of course, I did have to come straight home and take a nap, but still very glad that I was able to be at church today! ๐Ÿ™‚

(*Update*)An 8 Yr. Old’s Explanation…

…of God

______________________________

A friend sent me the following:

______________________________

The short essay below was written by an 8-year-old from Chula Vista, California.

He wrote it for his third grade homework assignment,

to “explain God.” I wonder if any of us could have done as well?

______________________________

EXPLANATION OF GOD:

One of God’s main jobs is making people. He makes them to replace the ones
that die, so there will be enough people to take care of things on earth.
He doesn’t make grownups, just babies. I think because they are smaller
and easier to make. That way he doesn’t have to take up his valuable time
teaching them to talk and walk. He can just leave that to mothers and
fathers.

God’s second most important job is listening to prayers. An awful lot of
this goes on, since some people, like preachers and things, pray at times
beside bedtime. God doesn’t have time to listen to the radio or TV because
of this. Because he hears everything, there must be a terrible lot of
noise in his ears, unless he has thought of a way to turn it off.

God sees everything and hears everything and is everywhere which keeps Him
pretty busy. So you shouldn’t go wasting his time by going over your mom
and dad’s head asking for something they said you couldn’t have.

Atheists are people who don’t believe in God. I don’t think there are any
in Chula Vista . At least there aren’t any who come to our church.

Jesus is God’s Son. He used to do all the hard work, like walking on water
and performing miracles and trying to teach the people who didn’t want to
learn about God. They finally got tired of him preaching to them and they
crucified him. But he was good and kind, like his father, and he told his
father that they didn’t know what they were doing and to forgive them and
God said O.K.

His dad (God) appreciated everything that he had done and all his hard work
on earth so he told him he didn’t have to go out on the road anymore. He
could stay in heaven. So he did. And now he helps his dad out by listening
to prayers and seeing things which are important for God to take care of
and which ones he can take care of himself without having to bother God.
Like a secretary, only more important.

You can pray anytime you want and they are sure to help you because they
got it worked out so one of them is on duty all the time.
‘You should always go to church on Sunday because it makes God happy, and if
there’s anybody you want to make happy, it’s God!

Don’t skip church to do something you think will be more fun like going to
the beach. This is wrong. And besides the sun doesn’t come out at the
beach until noon anyway.

If you don’t believe in God, besides being an atheist, you will be very
lonely, because your parents can’t go everywhere with you, like to camp,
but God can. It is good to know He’s around you when you’re scared, in the
dark or when you can’t swim and you get thrown into real deep water by big
kids.

But…you shouldn’t just always think of what God can do for you. I figure
God put me here and he can take me back anytime he pleases.

And…that’s why I believe in God.

Aren’t kids great? Don’t they have a way with words?

Have a great week…and smile. God loves you! ๐Ÿ™‚

**Update: P.S. Alright, o.k…..Yeah, I’m not really sure if this was really written by an 8 yr. old either. But, hey, it’s still a cute story.

By the way, you can still smile too…and yes, God loves you! ๐Ÿ™‚
