Christmas Memories

Recent Family Photos

10/11/09–Got Scott’s dad to snap a few quick family pics after church…Hadn’t had a family photo in 3 yrs.! Little Kerry is now 6 and Sarah is 8…and Scott and I, of course, are getting younger and younger every day!! =-)

Ah, there we go…the youngins are smiling a little in this one! ๐Ÿ™‚

Daddy thinks he’s SOOOO clever…but you can tell by my face that I’m on to something. I can tell by Sarah’s face that she’s bursting at the seams…trying to hold it in and not tell me! Little Kerry’s like “Hee, Hee, Hee! Mom’s got rabbit ears…I’m not going to tell her…I could keep this to myself ALL day!!” =-)

Hee, Hee, Hee…it’s just the parents in on it this time…See how happy I look!! ๐Ÿ™‚ The kids look so innocent and unsuspecting!! Hee, Hee, Hee!! =-)

(Can you tell I’ve been w/ Scott a LONG time?! Yes, I’m certainly learning some of his ways and sense of humor!! =-) )

Scott and I…I just love how serious he looks and how his expression hardly changes at all from 1 pic to the next!! How does he do that?!

My gray shows a little more in this one. It was nice to be closer to hubby though….but he looks even MORE serious in this one!

Tomorrow is…

…my little Kerry’s birthday!!ย  He will be 6 yrs. old…so hard to believe!!

Little Kerry, Happy Birthday!!ย  I love you SO much!!

Here’s a couple of links (from last year) about my precious little boy:

Our Visit To The Zoo

This trip to the NC Zoo in Asheboro was a couple of weeks ago (7/25/09). We went with Scott’s cousin Phillip and his family.ย  Of course, I took LOTS of photos, but I’ll just share a few here:

Hubby Scott and little Kerry.
1st animal we got to see.
I love this shot of Mother and baby!! ๐Ÿ™‚
This lion sure is enjoying “something.” (Glad that something wasn’t my leg!) =-)
I love this shot of the bear. It was an extremely hot day…I love the way he’s just hangin’ round in the water.
Love this shot of the polar bear too and the very blue water.
Otter taking a rest from swimming. See how sleek he looks.
Daddy holding Kerry up for a better look. ๐Ÿ™‚
There was a statue of an elephant that the kids wanted to get up on for photos. Here’s Kerry, Sarah, Rebecca, and Christopher. (Rebecca and Christopher are Phillip and Gloria’s kids…Phillip is Scott’s cousin from the beach.) The kids had such a great time getting together!
(These last shots were taken w/ Sarah’s little digital camera…we took turns.)
Rebecca…ain’t she cute?! ๐Ÿ™‚
Here, the kids were starting to look rather tired.
Here’s a tip…take pics of people at the VERY beginning. Ya know…BEFORE they’ve walked around all day in a 100 degree weather!! =-)
Scott just thinks he’s SOOOO funny!

Family B-Day Fun & Fellowship

This past Sat., we had a combination b-day party at my brother Johnny’s house . [A belated one for Johnny (July 5th) and a little early for my daughter Sarah (July 23rd).] This is the cake I baked, and I decorated it the way my Sarah Beth suggested. ๐Ÿ™‚
Sarah w/ cousin Ally (Johnny’s oldest).
My brother Johnny (I know it’s hard to believe, but yes, he’s younger. Hee, Hee, Hee! ๐Ÿ™‚ ) Mom is beside him.
Eli, Brenda (Johnny’s wife), Sarah, Ally, and Kerry:

A Very Long Week

Well, last post I wrote about how hectic things had been. The very next day, things began to change. This past week, our little family has HAD to slow down, whether we liked it or not! Here are some high-lights of the week (as posted on Facebook):

May 25 at 2:02pm “Alright, you yucky germs, you shall rue the day you invaded my head & body!! O.k., maybe not…but don’t get too comfy! Your abode here is only temporary…This too shall pass!!” ๐Ÿ™‚

Been sick since Sat…Difficult to breathe, hear, think, walk around. However, I refuse to be an hospitable host…this is war!!! O.k., yes, I may be a little addled and dizzy between the fever and medications….
So, I may have to lay back down now, but once again I say, “This too shall pass!!” ๐Ÿ™‚
…And yes, your prayers are appreciated! ๐Ÿ™‚

May 26 at 11:25am Feeling a little better today…Think I’ll be on the mend soon! ๐Ÿ™‚ Thank You Lord! ๐Ÿ™‚

P.S. I’m prepared…I just got re-stocked on Mucinex, saline nose spray, Robitussin DM, & tissues! ๐Ÿ™‚
May 27 at 1:00pm

Hubby’s sick too…home from work today. I’m still strugglin’, & the kids aren’t feeling

too good either. Yep, 1 sick little family, but we’re here together!! ๐Ÿ™‚

O.k., I’m SOOOO bored w/ T.V.!!!!!! Must find something more productive…still don’t feel up to doing much, though.
Scott’s still having fever, so he’ll probably be home tomorrow too.
Thu 10:49am

In the words of King Julian (ya know, Penguins of Madagascar)…

“HOW LONG IS THIS GOING TO TAKE?!!!!” {I have tried declaring that I will no longer

be sick now…sadly this has not yet worked!}

O.k., patience is not always one of my best virtues! ๐Ÿ™‚ Good thing the Lord is still workin’ on me! ๐Ÿ™‚

Thu 11:39am

“Our Daily Bread” for today says, “You shall receive power when the Holy Spirit

has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me…to the end of the earth.” –Acts 1:8

Fri 1:34pm

“ODB” for today says, “Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be

able to stand against the wiles of the devil.” –Eph. 6:11

Yep, it’s been kind of a long week ’round here. The Lord is my strength. Praise the Lord that we’re starting to get back to “normal.”

…Well, ya know, “normal” is such a relative word!! ๐Ÿ™‚

**Latest Update: I had missed last Sunday morning church services, and we all had to stay home Wed. night. I was so glad to be able to

attend church this morning! Of course, I did have to come straight home and take a nap, but still very glad that I was able to be at church today! ๐Ÿ™‚

Missing Daddy

Scott had a business trip to D.C. this week; only gone for the one night (thankfully). Nonetheless, of course, the short duration didn’t keep us from missing him. Sarah’s had the most sentimental correspondence with Daddy…At times, a little dramatic, but sweet. (I know what some of you are thinking…something about a “pot calling the kettle black” or something or other…Yeah, o.k., duly noted. ๐Ÿ™‚ )

Sarah writes:

Dear Daddy, I hope you had a safe trip. I miss you very much.
I hope you are going to have a good time working.
Love your baby girl, Sarah.

(Sarah had given Daddy another stuffed animal to remember her by.)

Daddy replies:

Pink looks out my window in DC.

That evening, Sarah writes:

Dear Daddy, thanks for the picture. I’m sorry that I didn’t get to say good-bye to you.
You can call her Pink. Her real name is Elizabeth.
Love you so much. ๐Ÿ™‚ Sarah.

P.S. I miss you very, very, very, very, very, very much.
Tonight, instead of us saying the prayer at home let’s do it on the computer.

Daddy, I do not know your prayer very well, so here are the parts of it that I know.

Daddy: The Lord may bless you and keep you. The Lord may shine upon you and
be gracious unto you. Mommy loves you, Daddy loves you, Kerry loves you, and Jesus loves loves you. AMEN.

Me: Now I lay me, down to sleep. I pray dear Lord, my soul you’ll keep. May your love be
with me through the night, and bless me with the morning light. AMEN.

Next morning, Sarah writes:

Dear Daddy, good morning! Did you get a good night sleep?
What time are you coming home? Are you having a good morning?
I love you very much, Sarah.

Good morning, Baby Girl!

I got a good night’s sleep. Did you?
I will be home tonight, but it may be after bedtime.

Are you and Kerry getting your work done? Did you brush your teeth and
get dressed? Be good for Mommy today.

I love you all!

Dear Daddy, I had a good night sleep……..I guess. It was not fun without you.
I slept with the play dog that you gave to me for Valentine’s Day. I slept on the pillow you and Mommy
gave me last Valentine’s Day. I wore one of your shirts, and I slept with a picture of you and me.
I miss you very, very, very, very, very, very, very much.
Love, Sarah.

P.S. Sorry if I make you cry.

Not Your Typical…

…Wedding Guest Interview

As many of you know, my hubby, Scott has a second job. He is also a videographer for Chestnut Photography in his “spare time.” Anyway, he has done oodles of wedding videos, but for a family member, he also made this additional bloopers video. I think it’s pretty cute and funny. Well, o.k., actually, it really cracks me up!ย  Hope you enjoy! ๐Ÿ™‚
