Not Your Typical…

…Wedding Guest Interview

________________________________

As many of you know, my hubby, Scott has a second job. He is also a videographer for Chestnut Photography in his “spare time.” Anyway, he has done oodles of wedding videos, but for a family member, he also made this additional bloopers video. I think it’s pretty cute and funny. Well, o.k., actually, it really cracks me up!  Hope you enjoy! 🙂

Friday’s Status

8:29am Janet ‘s coming out of denial now…o.k., I’m really sick now. 😦 (Sniff, sniff…cough, cough).

8:37am Janet ‘s thinking, “O.k. Mucinex…do yo thang!…Is there a Dr. in da house?…I want my mommy!” 😦 (cough, cough).

8:47am Janet just remembered, “It’s FRIDAY…YAY!” Good thing ’bout being sick…MAKES  ya slow down…l’m listening to “Finding My Way Back Home” (by Lee Ann Womack). :). My boy prefers this next song…”Roll W/ Me” by Montgomery Gentry…true, it IS a cool song. 🙂 (Little Kerry & I are sharing in this experience…poor little guy’s “coughin’ his head off too.” Yep, may be taking a little trip to the Dr. again.)

We don’t see this much ’round here. The kids act as if they’ve NEVER seen the stuff…which I suppose they haven’t seen a lot of it in their young lives. I admit, I usually don’t pay much attention when the forecast calls for snow. We got a pleasant surprise today, though. -)

**Note: O.k., no I did not take the above photo. (I got it from my new Photo-bucket account.) In fact, I don’t even know who took it or where/when. However, I did get some cute shots of the kiddos playing in the snow today. I’ll try to post those soon! -)

TT (#5)–Thirteen Tidbits

It’s that time of the week again! Happy TT! Here’s my Thursday Thirteen for this week:

Thirteen Tidbits (Interesting, different, and quirky facts about the author):

1. A few years back, I changed the battery on our car. (My husband Scott was not thrilled or pleased to discover this! -D )

2. I’m scared of fire and of lighting the gas grill. (O.k., maybe not just scared, but more like petrified for some reason! Let’s just say, I’ve done it; praying the whole time! I really like grilled chicken and steak! ;-))

3. I’m not scared of spiders, bugs, and the like. (Of course, I don’t like them in the house, though).

4. I’ve never been on an airplane before, yet I’ve always wanted to travel the world. (Just one of those little ironies of life!)

5. I once pressure-washed the entire house and re-painted the porch by myself. (Apparently, I needed more to do?!)

6. In school, I was picked on for being too tall and skinny and a “late-bloomer.” (Kids really can find anything to tease one about, huh?!)

7. I gained 100 pounds when I was pregnant with my first child. (Sadly, this is not an exaggeration! I had uncontrolled Gestational Diabetes–obviously, I didn’t know how to deal with it!)

8. Thank the Lord, I lost ninety percent of that extra weight and have kept most of it off for 4 yrs. now!

9. I was born and raised in the south, yet I’ve never liked fried chicken or barbecue pork! (I know; just doesn’t seem right, huh?!)

10. I was quite hyper and rambunctious as a kid. (Mom wasn’t too sure what to do with me and/or what new adventurous thing I might try next!)

11. When I was in college, I tried sky-coasting, which is akin to bungee-jumping. (I LOVED it! Well, that is once I got over the initial, immediate feeling that I was surely going to die! ;-))

12. Nowadays, I get dizzy just watching my kids on the tire swing!! LOL!! -D

13. Each day, I’m becoming more and more interested in following my Lord and living a life of purpose, meaning, and fulfillment! (This is TRULY the greatest adventure of all!)

Rudolph Says “Hi!”

O.k., just give me a chance to explain. There’s this cell-phone commercial where the daddy has to go away on a business trip, and his little girl slips her stuffed animal into his suitcase. Well, remembering that commercial, my Sarah Beth asked her daddy to take along something of hers. When she told me about it that first night (while Scott was away), I was so touched. You see, I recall Scott fighting with that small carry-on suitcase trying to fit a week’s worth of stuff into like the equivalent of an overnight bag! He didn’t want to have to “check” any luggage, and he knew he could only carry two bags on-board (one of which would be filled with equipment!)

Anyway, Scott had to really condense and leave a lot behind. However, when his little girl asked if he would take along Rudolph, he didn’t say a word or hesitate a bit. I’m not sure how, but he managed to squeeze Sarah’s Rudolph into that bag too! In fact, a couple of days ago, Daddy sent Sarah the following email:

Rudolph relaxing on the hotel bed.

I just thought that was really sweet. Well, Rudolph and Daddy are on their way home today–Yay!! We’re all very happy about that!

I also have something else to share with you. My daughter Sarah has been asking for her own blog for months, and the other day, I finally set something up for her. She is extremely excited about it. It’s simple for now and is highly supervised by me. Sarah has named her blog “God’s Love.” You can visit her blog from my right side bar and read what she has to say about Rudolph’s adventures, along with a few other posts.

Well, I’d better go for now. I have lots to do! Blessings to all and have a wonderful Easter weekend! -)
