Our Anniversary

Yesterday was our wedding anniversary…Scott and I have been married 13 yrs. (We first met about 23 yrs. ago.)  We had a wonderful anniversary.  We actually went out to dinner last night…just the two of us!! (Neither of us could remember the last time we’d done that, but we know it’s been years!! 🙂 Can you believe that?! )

I’m very thankful for my husband, for our life together, and for our family.

Marriage Takes Three

A friend gave me a plaque that hangs on the wall, in the same place it’s been for a decade. I pass it several times daily, as I scurry around the house trying to get things done. This wonderful reminder is a poem about the key to a good marriage…

Marriage Takes Three us-cutting-cake001

(By: Beth Stuckwisch)

Marriage takes three to be complete;
It’s not enough for two to meet.
They must be united in love
By love’s Creator, God above.
Then their love will be firm and strong;
Able to last when things go wrong,
Because they’ve felt God’s love and know
He’s always there, He’ll never go.
And they have both loved Him in kind
With all the heart and soul and mind
And in that love they’ve found the way
To love each other every day.
A marriage that follows God’s plan
Takes more than a woman and a man.
It needs a oneness that can be
Only from Christ-
Marriage takes three.

It’s Worth Fighting For…

…”LOVE,” that is. I agree wholeheartedly with that statement, and I LOVE the new song by Warren Barfield. Warren wrote “Love is Not a Fight” about his marriage and commitment to his wife. He says, “Love is not a fight, but it is something worth fighting for.” (His CD called “Worth the Fight” is due to be out on May 20th, 2008).

Check out these lyrics:

Love is not a place / to come and go as we please / It’s a house we enter in / then commit to never leave

So lock the door behind you / Throw away the key / Work it out together / Let it bring us to our knees

Love is a shelter / in a raging storm / Love is peace / in the middle of a war / If we try to leave / May God send angels to guard the door / No, Love is not a fight / but its something worth fighting for

Some love is a word / that they can fall into / But when they’re falling out / keeping that word is hard to do

Love is a shelter / in a raging storm / Love is peace / in the middle of a war / If we try to leave / May God send angels to guard the door / No, Love is not a fight / but its something worth fighting for

Love will come to save us / If we’ll only call / He will ask nothing from us / but demand we give our all

Love is a shelter / in a raging storm / Love is peace / in the middle of a war / If we try to leave / May God send angels to guard the door / No, Love is not a fight / but its something worth fighting for

Cause I will fight for you / Would you fight for me / It’s worth fighting for

[Warren Barfield, Love is Not a Fight]

My sweet hubby played this cute and happy ditty for me this morning. It’s such a fun little tune. When I hear this song, I just can’t help but dance around and hum along! Check out this video (and don’t be surprised if it has that effect on you too! -) ) :

“This Is Dedicated…

…To The One I Love.” Happy Valentine’s Day to my hubby, Scott! -)

You are the only man for me. I thank the Lord for you. I love you…always and forever.
