Thursday and Thankfulness

I found the following thankful poem in Our Daily Bread the other day:

We thank Thee, Lord, for daily food,
For plenteous store of earthly good;
For life and health we still possess,
With house and home so richly blessed. —Mohler

The key verse was:

Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to trust in uncertain riches but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy. —1 Timothy 6:17

–I thank God for His provision and for all the “richest” blessings (that money can’t buy!)

–I thank Him for the love, fellowship, enjoyment, and laughter of family and friends.

–I am also thankful for all the cleaning I’ve been able to get done this week! It’s given me HOPE!! Now, all I have to do is get the rest of the house cleaned up and then maintain it! Hee, Hee, Hee! ) No problemo! Hee, Hee…Hee? (O.k., now it’s turning into a nervous laugh!)

Today, I read in Our Daily Bread:

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. —Philippians 4:6

To be anxious about nothing, pray about everything.

–I am thankful that I don’t have to worry, when I leave things in God’s hands.

**P.S. I am also thankful for July the 4th and all our men and women in the Armed Forces.

  1. Great post. I love that verse from 1 Timothy…we have a lot of earthly riches here in America and we’d do well to give thanks.

    Blessings
    Sheila

Amen, Sheila! Here in America, we do have so much to be thankful for! Blessings to you, Janet

  2. Great Thankful list. I forgot to list (and be thankful) for all the cleaning I have been able to get done despite having between 6-13 children here at all times ages 3-16 :-0 I know that was the Lord for sure!!! 😉 I have been so low on energy until the last two days but, Then the Lord renewed my strength. Thank You Jesus!!! Be blessed,
    Stacy

Wow, Stacy! How you get all that done?! I see what you mean…that is the Lord! How awesome! He specializes in difficult situations, doesn’t He? Our Lord has helped me through so many things!

I thank the Lord for so, so many times He has renewed my strength also!
    Blessings, Janet
